From my personal experience most big-name survival schools have huge classes, not enough hands-on practice, and some even fluff up their curriculum with psuedo-Native "new age" philosophy. Working one-on-one with Ralph/Turtle/Haoka I've learned new ways of looking at our relationship with the earth from someone with an authentic background and have gained skills that allow me to live comfortably off the land at my homestead.

Turtle has enhanced my knowledge of what it means to be a warrior. His skills are of the highest level and he truly knows how to pass on the warrior spirit. I have trained all my life in the discipline of the blade and this has been my vehicle to the warrior path. I thought I have seen many training venues to maximize my path as a warrior but since I met Turtle in 2003 he has introduced me to many different venues that I would’ve never imagined. Redtail Primitive is definitely the place to go to if you also seek this path.

TO: Mr. Ralph Panaro RE: Primitive Weapons Course I really enjoyed your course on primitive weapons. The personalized instruction received by each participant is unique in this type of course, where large classes and designated participants are the norm. Each participant was involved in all activities, and left the course with weapons which they personally made and practiced with, in addition to information received and recorded in notes. The segment on instinctive stalking was amazing! It was obvious that almost anyone, with the proper instruction, guidance, and practice, could become proficient in this activity. Information was presented in an organized manner, with many examples demonstrated, and intermixed with hands-on activities.
